Susan P. Scully, MS, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P

Susan is the Director of Health Information Management at Rowan College at Burlington County.  She previously worked as the Coding Supervisor at Deborah Heart and Lung Center.  She received her Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology through the AHIMA Independent Study program and Burlington County College.  She got her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Administration from Stephens College and attained the RHIA credential. She received a Master of Science degree in Health Information Management with certificate in Informatics from the College of St. Scholastica.   She also has a CCS and CCS-P credentials.

She is an advocate for education in health information and enjoys introducing new students to the profession as well as watching them grow in the field and become colleagues.                                                                                        

She has been actively been involved NJHIMA serving as a committee member, secretary, director/delegate, and President.  She is also a fellow of the AHIMA.

Lisa Watlington MSN-Ed, RN

Lisa Watlington MSN-Ed, RN, is the first full time faculty member in the Health Information Technology Department at Rowan College at Burlington County.  Ms. Watlington is a Registered Nurse with a background in emergency room nursing and critical care, who became a full-time faculty member after working as an adjunct at the College for ten years. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science from Lock Haven University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, a Master’s of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University, and is currently working on a PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learning. She has been a guest speaker at Continuing Education Seminars, educational symposia, and has written for publication about methods of student engagement and learning styles. Ms. Watlington was honored with 2011 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award by Lincoln Educational Services for her innovative teaching style and for bringing technology into the classroom. In 2015 she was asked to speak at the New Jersey Health Information Management Association Annual Conference. She has been involved in the redesign and development of several courses at RCBC, and participates actively in text reviews for publishers. Currently, Ms. Watlington teaches several courses in the Health Information Technology program including: Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, and Pathophysiology, along with Anatomy and Physiology courses in the STEM department.
