NJHIMA 2017 Distinguished Member

Bonnie J. Ivler, RHIA, CPC

NJHIMA is pleased to award the 2017 Distinguished Member award to Bonnie J. Ivler, RHIA, CPC.

Bonnie entered the HIM profession after years of business experience. In 2011 she graduated from UMDNJ with a degree in Health Information Administration and is currently the Director of HIM at a long term care facility.

As a student, Bonnie became involved with NJHIMA as a student volunteer at the Annual Meeting. Bonnie is a past NJHIMA scholarship recipient and she strongly believes in giving back in support of NJHIMA and the HIM profession.

Elected for two (2) year terms as Treasurer since 2012, Bonnie has tirelessly maintained the NJHIMA banking and accounting system.  Her strict attention to NJHIMA’s finances, ideas for reducing expenditures, and support in raising funds has helped to ensure long term solvency of the Association.  She recently was one of the driving forces for movement to a new, friendlier, less costly NJHIMA website and registration platform.

In the past several years, Bonnie had become more and more involved in organizing the Annual Meeting’s Silent Auction, and was instrumental in its transformation to the current Ticket Raffle.  Through her efforts, significant additional dollars have been raised in support of the Kathleen A Frawley Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In addition to her service to NJHIMA, Bonnie is equally as active in the Monmouth Chapter of the AAPC.  She sees the benefit of joining forces and learning from each other.  Because of this, Bonnie has successfully coordinated joint AAPC and NJHIMA meetings, allowing members from both associations to participate in educational events.  Her enthusiasm and forward thinking benefit all of us!

NJHIMA proudly congratulates Bonnie J. Ivler on her achievements and this recognition!
