The Health Information Management and Health Services Administration programs seek a candidate to serve as a full-time assistant or associate professor, starting in Fall 2025. The general responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: 

  • teaching courses in the discipline
  • curriculum development
  • graduate advisement and support of students
  • participation in committees and other governance structures
  • research and scholarship in the discipline and/or scholarship of teaching and learning
  • performance of administrative, supervisory, and other functions such as RHIA review seminar participation or guest speaking, orientation(s), program and department faculty meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other programmatic activities as assigned by the Academic Director.
  • NOTE: This is a tenure track position.
  • Until further notice, work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Required Qualifications

  • For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent.
  • Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
  • The preferred candidate will have: Earned doctorate, PhD degree or equivalent in health informatics, health information management, healthcare administration or other related discipline.
  • A current RHIA credential.
  • Demonstrated experience with online teaching and learning at the college level.
  • Experience with curriculum and online course development.
  • Experience with student advisement and mentoring.
  • Ability to communicate and establish effective relationships with faculty and clinical/program partners.
  • Demonstrated experience with program assessment and accreditation.
  • Administrative experience

Compensation:   Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, based upon rank, within the following ranges: Assistant Professor: $82,928 - $93,134; Associate Professor: $82,298 - $96,602.  CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
